Cajun Music Concert featuring Krewe de la Rue
“Our Musical Heritage” Concert Series
A free concert! No registration is required.
Cornwall Public Library welcomes back the band Krewe de la Rue to Munger Cottage, just up the hill from the library, at 395 Hudson St., Cornwall, NY. The concert will kick off with a short dance lesson, by Buffy Lewis, so that we’ll all be able to get up on the floor. It’s not quite Mardi Gras, yet, but we’re getting ready!
Listen to Krewe de la Rue and you’ll hear their energetic, heartfelt, punchy dance hall mix of Cajun and Creole music. Lead by Roger Weiss on fiddle, Laren Droll on accordion and Buffy Lewis on guitar and vocals, the Krewe captures and preserves the music played at festivals, dance halls, and clubs throughout Southwest Louisiana.
This program is part of the “Our Musical Heritage” series, which is funded, in part, by Orange County Tourism and the County of Orange. The series is also supported by generous donations from the Friends of Cornwall Library and the Cornwall Public Library Foundation.
