In 1956, the game show Twenty-One premiered and was played honestly but ended as a “dismal failure” when contestants could not answer questions. As a result, Twenty-One became rigged with players given answers in advance. The dominant long-running winner was ordered to lose but then blew the whistle on the scam. Features the original episode.

Presenter: Rick Feingold teaches American Business History at Bergen Community College. He holds an MBA from Penn State University and a B.A. in History from Rutgers University.
