Emily Warren Roebling was the surrogate chief engineer who “saved” the Brooklyn Bridge. She became known as the “Silent Builder” and saw the bridge to its completion in 1883 when engineer husband and son died. She became the first person to officially cross the bridge in her carriage with a rooster on board for good luck!
Lecturer, Cindy Topps, weaves the story together for all to enjoy.
