Let’s make Shakespeare make sense! Using a practical approach to the text, including detective work and a literary toolbox, participants will gain a better understanding of Shakespeare’s poetry, characters, and stories. Speeches and scenes will be provided, though please feel free to bring your own. All experience levels welcome – for grade 8 through adult. This program will be conducted via Zoom. Aaron Gaines has appeared Off-Broadway with the Irish Repertory Theatre, Peccadillo Theatre Company, Metropolitan Playhouse, and Shakespeare Forum. Regional credits include the LEXington Theatre Company, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the Shakespeare Theatres of D.C. and New Jersey. He has been a guest teacher for the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Utah Valley University, PAA Colorado, Riverside Theatre Arts Academy, and dozens of public schools in New York, Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona. Since 2010, he has been a teaching artist and adjudicator for the Utah Shakespeare Festival’s annual High School Shakespeare Competition. Aaron graduated from California State University Fullerton and has studied with the McCaskill Studio and the Upright Citizens Brigade.
