Notary Public service is free of charge. Our notary publics are staff members with varying schedules. It is recommended to call the library (845-534-8282) on the day you plan to visit to confirm that a notary is available and to arrange a suitable time. In addition, please note that we may conclude notary services 15 minutes prior to closing to ensure that all transactions are completed before the library’s closing time.

• If witnesses are required for a given document, it is the responsibility of the signer to supply them. The witness will be required to bring a valid government-issued photo ID as listed above. The Library will not provide witnesses and witnesses may not be solicited from patrons using the Library.

In order to serve as a witness, the witness must personally know the person whose document is being notarized and must be in possession of valid New York State driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification.
