Library Trustee Election 2024
Now Accepting Trustee Election Petitions for 2024.
The library seeks innovative, community-minded people interested in helping guide the library into the future. Two trustee positions, each for a three(3)-year term, and one trustee position with a two(2)- year term will be on the ballot at the annual operating budget vote on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Trustees determine the fiscal budget, set policy, and help discern the library’s response to community needs. Members of the Board of Trustees attend monthly meetings, committee meetings, and work sessions as needed. Trustees normally serve on two committees. Candidates must be willing to serve a three-year term. (unless otherwise noted above).
Candidates must meet the following legal requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a citizen of the U.S. and
- Have legal residency in the Cornwall Central School District for at least the past 30 days.
If you are interested in running for one of these positions, please download and print the petition for signatures below, complete with at least 25 signatures, and return to the Cornwall Public Library by no later than 5:00pm, Friday, March 22, 2024. A printed copy of the petition for signatures is also available for you to pick up at the library circulation desk.
