Local History

Cornwall Public Library houses a significant collection of local history that includes books, maps, newspaper articles, post cards and photographs. Archives of The Cornwall Local are available from the late 1800s to present day. When you come to the library, speak with the Reference Librarian for assistance with the Local History materials.

Cornwall Public Library has added oral histories to its digital collection.Oral histories not only connect us to our past, but create a tradition of stories that help us preserve the voices and memories of people and communities. Listen to Cornwall Town, Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Mountainville residents as they recall everyday life in our area. Visit and hear voices of local history at: hrvh.org.
